Since 1908 when the Alumnae Association began, graduates have supported the Association. All VGH graduates are eligible to join. All it takes is the payment of an annual membership fee of $20.

For this nominal fee members receive 2 publications – The Bulletin which is mailed in January along with a membership renewal form and a 16-page newsletter in the Spring. Membership fees provide annual revenue which supports the various projects and programs.

Over the years the Association has received generous donations from graduates. These provide funds for educational bursaries and for financial support for members in need.  As well the Association manages the VGH/SON Alumnae Education Fund. In 2010 $7,950.00 was awarded to seven bursary recipients. As a member you can apply for these bursaries.

Keeping in touch with members is important and an annual lunch is held in May. Those celebrating their 50th anniversary are honoured at this annual event attended by over 250 graduates.

Newsletter

The first Alumnae newsletter was printed in 1938 and although only a few pages in length, it provided a vital link to members with class news, information about events and changes at VGH.

Bulletins

Bulletins are produced annually and mailed to members in January. These one-page publications outline events such as the March AGM, the May luncheon, and a reminder to renew memberships.
